#InvestInOurPlanet

Earth Day 2022 – 22 April 2022

This is the moment to change it all — the business climate, the political climate, and how we take action on climate. Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our familiesour livelihoods… together, we must Invest In Our Planet.

Because a green future is a prosperous future.

We need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). It’s going to take all of us. All in. Businesses, governments, and citizens — everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A partnership for the planet.

And while there is still time to solve the climate crisis, time to choose BOTH a prosperous and sustainable future, and time to restore nature and build a healthy planet for our children and their children, time is short.

The Earth Day 2022 Theme is Invest In Our Planet. What Will You Do?  Scroll down to find information on Earth Day events, activities, and what individuals and organizations can do to make a difference.

For Earth Day 2022, together, for everyone, everything, every day…

What can we, as Primorial, do?

“Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world.” – Dolores Huerta

We have may troubles in life – it is human. Sometimes we can think that environmental issues are not big because they don’t really affect our day-to-day life – but, if you stop to think about it, they actually affect us much more than we like to admit…

Johannesburg – and South Africa as a whole has problems with access to clean water… yes, part of this problem might be political, but a big part is also linked to how we as humans don’t take care with the fresh natural water we have. Of the rivers you have seen around town, how many DON’T have litter in them and on their banks? That dirt is caused by civilians and not the government…

Everytime you go shopping and are asked “plastiek” – you say yes and pay your 50c – where does that plastic end up after you get home with your shopping?

Ask yourself secretly – do you like to print out notes and letters and forms? After you have printed them, and you are done working with them, you throw them in the bin. Where do you think they end up?

When you go shopping in winter, and after payday, when you are feeling cash flush, and you buy grapes (in winter), and they are labeled “product of Egypt”, how do you think they got to the shelf of your store – what is the carbon footprint of that? Do you know what a CARBON FOOTPRINT is? Guys, let’s eat “in season” fruit and vegetables.

Is any of this making any sense to you? If not, visit https://www.earthday.org (not now, in your own time) 😀

What can we do?

What can we, as Primorial do, to positively influence change? What can we do to #InvestInOurEarth?

If you have any suggestions of what we can do on Earth Day (22 April) or everyday, as a team, please share it with Precious.

This is the only home we have – when she dies… what do you think happens to us..?
